– This might be about the Zune dieoff, but I don’t know. I’m kind of curious as to what sassy water is, but not enough to search for it and help keep it at #1.
this post is about how I was going to post a video...
I was going to post a video today, but I really don’t think it’s going to happen. It’s all headaches this afternoon and I don’t really know why. I guess I can say I didn’t really care for the Flaming Lips movie, since I didn’t, but I don’t have much to add to that.
this post is about my year in lists
I’ve been working on a year-end list for a while now. Sort of. I’m going to go ahead and assume that the whole idea of making this thing is deeply flawed, since there are tons of wonderful records that came out this year that I either haven’t heard or won’t ever hear. Working at a radio station only makes this worse. So here’s an annotated list of ten or so records...

The Star Wars Holiday Special. All 117 glorious minutes of it.
The click of the “ReBlog” button that just happened was kinda involuntary.
I hope this copy comes with the commercials. The commercials were the best part.

Idaho makes me boring. I leave my house even less and don’t have any stories, since nothing happens here anymore, though sometimes people get hurt on new year’s eve and my dog only vaguely acknowledges me. But I guess there’s almost a narrative in the spot next to the bar across from the bar that burned down that was next to the bookstore that closed and one block away from the...

1: Denied, because I don’t believe in discussing other people’s boring year end lists anyway.

Everything is Terrible is the video blog that I wish I could’ve made, since all of this stuff is fucking incredible. I wish I had access to mountains of potentially terrifying VHSs. I was going to post some of this material but then I realized that I’d more or less be posting everything they had. So I won’t. I’ll make a list tomorrow maybe though.
this post is about it being cold out
fourteen degrees is cold out. I was not expecting to spend twenty minutes prying ice off of my windshield today and I will never understand why it is that people seem to suddenly lose the capacity for rational thought when driving on ice. Someone told me that they kept eating more of the pizza we brought hoping that the next piece would finally be good, but I don’t think the pizza ever...

(via maura)
Nothing leaks anymore, really. Or it does, but not until shortly before street date. I think we could be waiting a while longer on this one.

Because it’s not necessarily not December 5th, 1988.

Question: Were the Vivian Girls deliberately attempting to seem incredibly dumb, annoying and condescending in this video? They collectively remind me of Claire Fisher near the end of Six Feet Under, when she’s regressing big-time and being this totally obnoxious snob. Via Maura, who is correct about their inability to write a decent melody. Which makes th is clip pretty ironic, right?...

The Army-Navy Surplus Store, Boise, ID: “Give fleece a chance.”
It was the best marquee.
